Airport Transfers Hotelink transfers between Heathrow and Gatwick Airports and Central London are available for all passengers, providing you stay in a Trafalgar London hotel (booked by Trafalgar Tours). Note: Passengers should arrive at Gatwick Airport between 06:00 – 12:30 or Heathrow between 06:00 – 21:30. Departure transfers arrive back to Gatwick Airport and London Heathrow Airport between 08:00 – 23:00. For passengers who book Trafalgar's Land only package and who choose to make their own flight arrangements, a transfer will be provided at a charge of $25 per person round trip. From Paddington or Victoria it's a short and inexpensive journey by taxi to your London Hotel. Note: Heathrow Express operates between 05:10 – 23:30. (Continental breakfast) | | Day 4 | Amsterdam | We are met by our Tour Director as we head off for the White Cliffs of Dover before our Channel crossing to Calais in France. Then via Belgium we arrive in Amsterdam. This evening, we enjoy a welcome drink before heading out on a canal cruise in a glass–topped boat to a floating restaurant for a Rijsttafel dinner. (Continental breakfast/ Restaurant dinner in Amsterdam) | | Day 5 | Rhineland | A morning visit to a diamond–polishing factory. Next we drive to the German border and Cologne to view its Cathedral. Then we enter the Rhine Valley for a relaxing Rhine cruise past castles and wine villages before heading on to view Heidelberg castle from the pretty baroque University town. Finally, on to our Rhineland hotel. (Buffet breakfast/ Dinner) | | Day 6 | Rhineland | This morning we're off to Munich where an orientation tour shows us the Marienplatz and Olympic Stadium. Then, a scenic drive brings us to Innsbruck. (Buffet breakfast/ Dinner) | | Day 7 | Venice | Our orientation features the Golden Roof and Wilten Basilica. Then across the Europa Bridge and Brenner Pass into Italy. We pass the foothills of the Dolomites to romantic Verona where we see the Roman Arena and Juliet's balcony. On to Venice. (Buffet breakfast/ Dinner) | | Day 8 | Venice | Today we discover Venetian glory on our canal cruise to St. Mark's Square where we view the Bridge of Sighs and Doges' Palace. Later, we will visit a Murano glass–blowing factory before time at leisure. (Buffet breakfast/ Dinner) | | Day 9 | Venice | It's back to the mainland where the Carnian Alps herald the Austrian Lake District. Then a dazzling drive across the Styrian Alps gives way to the Vienna Woods en route to Imperial Vienna. (Buffet breakfast). | | Day 10 | Vienna | Our sightseeing shows us the Opera, Parliament, Imperial Boulevards, Hofburg and the Stadtpark. Then time at leisure to further explore. (Buffet breakfast) | | Day 11 | Budapest | We cross the Hungarian border, stopping at Györ. From here on through the vineyards of Transdanubia, we reach Budapest. Tonight, we enjoy a traditional Hungarian dinner with music. (Buffet breakfast/ Restaurant dinner in Budapest) | | Day 12 | Budapest | – Our morning sightseeing tour in the twin cities of Buda and Pest include the Great Synagogue, the Fishermen's Bastion with its views over the Parliament and Danube. Then free time. (Buffet breakfast) | | Day 13 | Sibiu | After breakfast we drive across the Great Hungarian Plain into Romania. Then we continue via Szeged and on through the Transylvanian Alps en route to Sibiu for the night. (Buffet breakfast/ Dinner) | | Day 14 | Bucharest | We enjoy an orientation tour before travelling to Bucharest, known as the Paris of Eastern Europe. Tonight, we enjoy Romanian specialities with a folklore show. (Buffet breakfast/ Restaurant dinner in Bucharest) | | Day 15 | Sofia | Morning sightseeing shows us the Metropolitan Cathedral Triumphal Arch, Opera and Atheneum. Then across the River Danube and into Bulgaria we soon reach Sofia. Dinner is our hotel. (Buffet breakfast/ Dinner) | | Day 16 | Sofia | A well planned city of old and new is revealed on orientation, including the great onion–domed Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. Later time at leisure, perhaps to discover the beautiful Rila Monastery. (Buffet breakfast/ Dinner) | | Day 17 | Kalambaka | Today we follow the valley of the River Struma into Greece. Later we enjoy fine views of the Plains of Thessaly en route to Kalambaka. Time to perhaps visit the rock monasteries at Meteora. (Buffet breakfast/ Dinner) | | Day 18 | Athens | Today we see the site of the Battle of Thermopylae, before making a stop at Delphi on Mount Parnassus. Later we arrive in Athens. Then on to Rome, the 'Eternal City' for three nights. (Buffet breakfast) | | Day 25 | Rome | The ceiling of the Sistine Chapel by Michelangelo revealed to us by a local expert gets the day off to a beautiful start. Then we visit St. Peter's Basilica and stop at the Forum to view the ancient Colosseum. The rest of your stay in Rome is at leisure. Perhaps take in the Catacombs or visit the gardens and cool fountains of the Villa d'Este at nearby Tivoli. Then we cross into France and the French Riviera to jet–set Nice. Later, sample the high life on a visit to the Principality of Monaco to see the famous Monte Carlo Casino. Tonight, enjoy dinner in a typical restaurant. Then into Switzerland near Como we cross Lake Lugano to the St. Gotthard range. Spectacular scenery regales us as we enter Central Switzerland and the Lake of Lucerne. Then you are free to take a trip by cog–wheel train up a nearby mountain peak and to shop for Swiss chocolates! Later, why not try a Swiss cheese fondue at a folklore show? (Buffet breakfast/ Dinner) | | Day 32 | Paris | We head back into France and on through wine–producing Burgundy to view the Savigny–Lès–Beaune vineyards. Next on to Paris, 'City of Light'.
