If you join your Trafalgar tour at a
European city and have booked
Trafalgar's Land & Air package, a free
transfer will be provided to and from
the airport to the tour hotel on the
day the tour arrives and the day it
departs at scheduled times. In the
unlikely event that passengers who
have booked their Land & Air with
Trafalgar can only be booked on
flights arriving outside of the
scheduled times, transfers will still
be provided.
Note: Heathrow Express operates
between 05:10–23:30. Gatwick Express
operates inbound services between
06:50–20:50 and outbound services from

Overnight transatlantic flight to

Arrive London.
Time to relax after checking into
your Trafalgar hotel.
- Day 3
London – Paris
(2nights). After breakfast, we're
off through Kent to Dover where we
cross the Channel by ferry to France.
Soon we can see the Sacre Coeur, the
Eiffel Tower and more as we approach
this glamorous city. Then get to know
the rest of your group at this
evening's welcome drink.
- Day 4
Paris
sightseeing &
at leisure. This morning we enjoy
an included sightseeing tour with a
local Parisian expert. Then time at
leisure. Tonight, if you
fancy 'painting the town red' at Clubs
such as 'Les Bains Douches' we'll have
late–night transportation at hand!

Paris – Bordeaux. Late
morning departure for Bordeaux takes us
past Tours with its towering Cathedral
and the strange Futuroscope buildings
at Poitiers to Europe's greatest wine
town,the city of Bordeaux. Tonight, why
not try a little claret with our
included dinner in a downtown

- Day 6
Bordeaux –
Biarritz –
Pamplona. Our first stop this
morning is in
nearby Biarritz with its sandy beaches
and stylish surfers! Time for a swim
before crossing into the Spanish Basque
country and to Pamplona. Renowned for
the running of the bulls at the San
Firmin Festival, Pamplona is also
architecturally stunning. An
orientation tour shows us the main
sights, before dinner at our hotel.

- Day 7
Pamplona –
Burgos – Madrid
(2nights). First we visit Burgos,
city of 'El Cid', where the gothic
Cathedral houses the warriors' tomb. We
continue over the Guadarrama Mountains
to Madrid. Bars and clubs abound in
this exciting city where at four
o'clock in the afternoon there is a
silent lull – but at four o'clock in
the morning, things are really
happening! You can 'happen' too…we will
have a coach available to bring you
back to your hotel. (Continental

- Day 8
Madrid
sightseeing &
at leisure. A morning panoramic
sightseeing tour with a local guide
encompasses all you need to know about
the Spanish capital. Later, you may
wish to go to Toledo or maybe take
a little siesta! This evening, why not
try our some of the late night bars
around the Plaza Mayor? (Continental

Madrid –
Barcelona
(2nights). As we drive along the
Jalon gorges we see the old Arab
irrigation systems still in use today
on our approach to Barcelona. In a
passionate mood? Then don't miss out on
a fiery Flamenco show tonight and we'll
have late–night transportation to get
you back to your hotel. (Continental

Barcelona
sightseeing & at leisure. From
Gaudi's incredible 'Sagrada Familia' to
the Paseo de Gracia with its chic
boutiques this is a city which will
surprise the most seasoned traveller.
We'll explore its many facets with our
local guide. Enjoy Catalan specialties
in a local restaurant tonight and then
the city is yours.

Barcelona –
Cannes – Nice
(2nights). Today we travel into
France, and through the Camargue with
its, white horses and black bulls. We
continue along the coast to Cannes'
Croisette with its Film Festival Centre
and 'palace–hotels' before dinner
tonight in a Nicois restaurant.

Nice at
leisure.
This is where the French come to
jog along the Promenade, sizzle in the
sun or just show off their latest
boutique purchase whilst walking their
newly groomed poodle! Enjoy
an included excursion to Monaco and

- Day 13
Nice – Pisa –
Florence (2nights). Mid–morning
departure takes us into Italy, where we
continue along the coast past Genoa and
the marble quarries of Carrara to Pisa
famous for its Leaning Tower. We'll
have time to visit the Square of
Miracles before continuing to Florence.
This evening, we'll enjoy a meal in one
of the city's most popular pizzerias!

Florence
sightseeing & at leisure.
Trafalgar's local expert will
bring the city to life for us on an
included walking tour. We'll also have
time for shopping, there are bargains

be had in fine quality leather goods

why not try out some of the local clubs,
your Tour Planner can give you advice
on the best place in town. (Continental

- Day 15
Florence –
Orvieto –
Rome (2nights). This morning we
stop in the medieval
walled town of Orvieto, famous for its
glorious wines, its richly decorated
Cathedral and its pretty pottery shops.
Later we arrive in Rome
where this evening you may like to
do 'as the Romans do' – and linger in
the fountain–filled squares and
pavement cafés! We'll have
transportation on hand to take you back
to your hotel. (Continental breakfast)
- Day 16
Rome
sightseeing &
at leisure. This morning our local
guide will take us on a tour seeing the
Forum, the Colosseum and St. Peter's
Basilica in the Vatican. Then you may
wish to explore further. Perhaps visit
the ancient Catacombs or some of the
beautiful baroque Churches and Bernini
sculptures in the Villa Borghese.

- Day 17
Rome – Isle of
Capri – Sorrento. Today we drive
to Naples to embark on our short sea
crossing to the beautiful Isle of
Capri. By funicular, we reach Capri
town with its café–filled 'Piazzetta'
and trendy boutiques and admire views
of the Faraglioni Rocks. Then we cruise
to Sorrento a resort with oodles of
nightlife! We dine at our hotel.

- Day 18
Sorrento –
Pompeii –
Bari – At Sea. With a local guide
we'll visit the excavations at Pompeii
this morning and thus learn much about
life in Roman times. Then across the
Italian Peninsula to Bari, where we
embark on our overnight sea crossing to
Patras. (Continental breakfast)
- Day 19
Arrive Patras –
Athens sightseeing & at leisure.
Lunchtime arrival at the port of Patras
where we re–board our coach to travel
to the
Corinth Canal and Athens. Our guide
takes us on a sightseeing tour which
includes the Parthenon on top of the
Acropolis.

Athens –
Piraeus –
Mykonos. Today we transfer to
Piraeus and sail to Mykonos. Enjoy a
few hours at leisure on this
cosmopolitan island before continuing

Kusadasi –
Patmos. An early arrival at
Turkish
Kusadasi with time to visit Ephesus.
Later, we cruise to Patmos, why not

Santorini.
An early morning arrival at
Heraklion on the island of Crete. Next,
we cruise to spectacular Santorini

Arrive Piraeus –
Delphi – Patras – At Sea (2nights).
Arriving back in Piraeus we are taken
to Delphi to consult the Oracle who
will predict the fantastic time we will
have on the rest of our tour! Finally
back to Patras where we board our ship
for a two–night cruise to Ancona.

Arrive Ancona –
Venice (Mestre). This morning we
arrive at the ancient port of Ancona
and then drive to Venice and are flung
back in time to the era of Canaletto as
we cruise past St.Mark's Square, the
Doges' Palaxe and the island of San
Giorgio. Maybe later enjoy a gondola
serenade before enjoying an Italian
dinner in a canal–side restaurant.

Venice
sightseeing
& at leisure. This
morning a private launch takes us to
St.Mark's Square where a short stroll
past the Basilica brings us to one of
the oldest glass–blowing workshops for
a demonstration! Then you are free to

Venice (Mestre) –
Vienna (2nights) First through the
rugged mountains of the Friuli and then
along the Alpine highway through the
Austrian Lake District. Finally via the
Semmering Pass to the elegant city of

Venice sightseeing
& at leisure. The architectural
heritage of this fine city is evident
on our included sightseeing tour. This
evening, we enjoy Viennese music and
food in a Heurige in the Vienna Woods.

Munich. This morning we drive
along the Danube Valley past the
monastery of Melk to Salzburg for an

Bavarian dinner in a characteristic

Munich –
Neuschwanstein Castle – Lucerne
(2nights). First we're off to
Neuschwanstein, where we visit mad King
Ludwig's fairytale castle. Then on to
Liechtenstein before arriving in the
charming lakeside city of Lucerne.

Lucerne
orientation
& at leisure. Our orientation tour
shows us the Lion Monument and wooden
Chapel Bridge. Then you are free to
shop for souvenirs or take a cog–wheel

Lucerne –
Strasbourg – Rhineland (Mannheim).
Along the
Rhine rift valley and following the
Alsatian wine roads we arrive in the
European city of Strasbourg, famous for
its Cathedral. Then into Germany and to
the River Neckar overlooked by the red
sandstone city of Heidelberg. Here we
view the ruined Castle, explore the
streets of the Baroque town with
its 'Student Inns' and enjoy dinner in
a local tavern before heading to our
Rhineland hotel. (Continental

Rhineland
(Mannheim) – Rhine
Cruise – Amsterdam (2nights).
First a Rhine cruise past the Lorelei
Rock to the riverside town of Boppard.
Then on to Cologne to view the 500 foot
high Cathedral before crossing the
Dutch border to the city of Zaandam for
two nights. (Continental breakfast)

Amsterdam
orientation & Countryside Excursion.
This morning orientation shows us
the main sights including Dam Square,
the Tower of Tears and the Skinny
Bridge. Then we drive to the fishing
village of Volendam where there's time
to try smoked eel for lunch! Tonight,

head out for our final dinner – an
Indonesian banquet on a floating

Amsterdam –
London.
We drive past turning windmills to
the Belgian border and then cross into
France. At Calais we embark on our
ferry crossing across the Channel to
