Airport Transfers
Transfers will be provided for
passengers who have booked our Land +
Air package. Group transfers on arrival
at Rome Airport will operate at 09:30,
12:30 and 15:30. Return transfers from
the last hotel will arrive at Milan

Airport at 09:00. For passengers who
book Trafalgar's Land only package and
who choose to make their own flight
arrangements, a transfer will be
provided at a charge of $25 per person
round trip. Your Travel Agent must
provide Trafalgar accurate flight
details no less than 21 days prior to
tour departure and must arrange your
flights to coincide with our specific
arrival and departure transfer times
(refer to each itinerary for specific
details). If however, you arrive outside
the scheduled transfer times, then you
must make your own alternative transfer

| | | Day | Destination | Description | | Day 1 | Depart USA | Overnight flight to Rome. | | Day 2 | Rome | Welcome to Italy! You are met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. There's time to relax and unwind, vefore joining our Tour Director and fellow travellers for a welcome drink this evening where you will learn more about the tour programme. Later, why not enjoy Rome by night? | | Day 3 | Rome | This morning with a local guide we enter the Vatican Museums for a guided visit of the magnificent works of Michelangelo on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Our guided tour continues through St. Peter's Basilica, where among other great works, we can admire Michelangelo's moving Pieta. From here we cross the Tiber River to ancient Rome, where we will see the Forum, Colosseum and Circus Maximus. Then enjoy time at leisure in the grandeur of this monumental city. Tonight, why not enjoy dinner in a typical trattoria? (Buffet Breakfast) | | Day 4 | Rome | A completely free day to enjoy the delights that this wonderful city has to offer. Maybe take a trip outside the old city walls, in order to visit the ancient catacombs or take an excursion into the hills to the Sabine town of Tivoli with its magnificent Villa d'Este and refreshing fountains. Or, you may wish to visit the museums and gardens in the Villa Borghese or just while away the hours at a sidewalk cafe in one of the many piazzas of the city. (Buffet Breakfast) | | Day 5 | Amalfi Coast | Today we trave into the Apennine Mountains up to the town of Subiaco, where we visit the monastery of San Benedetto to admire its wonderful frescos and peaceful atmosphere. A scenic drive then takes us to the autostrada and past the city of Naples, to visit the excavations of the ancient Greek Temples at Paestum, before continuing to the legendary Amalfi Coast, where we spend the next three nights. (Buffet Breakfast/ Dinner) | | Day 6 | Isle of Capri | First we travel to Salerno before we cross the Mediterranean Sea to magical Isle of Capri. On our arrival we ascend to Capri town by funicular and enjoy a tour of this part of the island which includes views of the Faraglioni Rocks and Marina Piccola, plus the famous 'Piazzetta', home to the international jet–set, later we return to our hotel in Maiore, on the Amalfi coast. (Buffet Breakfast/ Dinner) | | Day 7 | Amalfi | Today our Tour Director takes us on an orientation of Amalfi town, featuring the attractive Romanesque Church. Then we drive along the spectacular Amalfi drive along the spectacular Amalfi drive as far as Positano, so have plenty of film for your camera! The rest of you day is free. Perhaps have fun shopping in the boutiques. Amalfi is one of the most exclusive places to stay in the Mediterranean, so why not spend the evening sipping your favourite cocktail whilst overlooking the Bay of Naples and the islands of Capri and Ischia? (Buffet Breakfast) | | Day 8 | Florence | We head towards Naples and soon arrive at Pompeii – literally 'petrified' by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. Here we enjoy a guided tour of the excavations with a local expert. Next we drive past the Abbey of Monte Cassino making a brief stop at the Commonwealth War Cemetery. Then on through the Umbrian hills and into the Chianti vineyards to Florence. Tonight we enjoy a dinner of Tuscan cuisine in a typical Trattoria. (Buffet Breakfast/ Specialty dinner) | | Day 9 | Florence | Today our walking tour with a local guide shows us the city's main sights, from the multi–coloured 'Duomo' to the Piazza Signoria with its amazing sculptures and the Santa Croce Basilica. Then by coach we travel into the hills of the Chianti stopping in the village of Greve for a wine–tasting of some of the region's most popular wines, also a great opportunity to buy delicious olive oil and salamis! Tonight, why not enjoy a Florentine banquet in one of the elegant 'palazzos'? (Buffet Breakfast) | | Day 10 | Florence | A full day to enjoy the dlights this city hast to offer. Perhaps visit the Uffizzi galleries or see the famous 'David' by Michelangelo at the Fine Arts Academy. Or, you may wish to shop for articles in leather and gold your Tour Director will be able to advise you on the best places to shop – or maybe take an excursion to one of the charming medieval towns in the vicinity of Florence. The possibilities are endless! (Buffet Breakfast) | | Day 11 | Como | After breakfast we travel past the market gardens and horticultural centres for which this area is so renowned towards Pisa. Here we stop to view the Leaning Tower in the Square of Miracles and see the intricate marble lacework on the Cathedral and its Baptistry. From here we continue along the coast past the Carrara marble quarries and then inland over the Apuan pre–alps en route to the delightful lakeside town of Como. This evening after dinner why not enjoy a lakeside stroll? (Buffet Breakfast/ Dinner) | | Day 12 | Return USA | 'Buon viaggio' to Trafalgar and your newly made friends as we transfers to the airport for our return flight to America. (Buffet Breakfast) |
