Tour Duration: 11 days
- Day 1
Depart USA.
Overnight transatlantic flight to
Prague.
- Day 2
Arrive Prague
(3nights). Welcome to the Czech
Republic as you are met at the airport
and transferred to your hotel. Later we
will all meet for a welcome drink and
get to know our Tour Planner and fellow
travelling companions. Perhaps this
evening discover Prague by night and its
wonderful Pilsner beer!
- Day 3
Prague sightseeing & at
leisure. With a local expert we'll
visit the city seeing Hradcany Castle,
the old town square and the romantic
Charles Bridge over the River Vlatva (
Smetana's Moldau). Then you are free to
explore the old twon, fwllow in the
steps of Mozart and other great
musicians who spent time in this
beautiful University city or shop for
bargains in Bohemain crystal. Maybe
attend a concert this evening. Prague
remains a musical haven! (Continental
breakfast)
- Day 4
Prague at leisure.
A full day at leisure to enjoy the
many cultural opportunities this city
has to offer – or take an excursion to
visit one of the nearby castle. Cruise
the Moldau, admire the 'art nouveau'
paintings of Prague's Alphonse Mucha and
later maybe try out some of the beer
halls. Tonight, we will enjoy some
typical Czech cuisine in a local
restaurant. (Continental breakfast /
Dinner)
- Day 5
Prague – Lednice Castle
– Vienna (3nights). First via Brno,
one–time headquarters of Napoleon, to
Lednice Castle, where we stop to visit
the Italianate Gardens. Next, we cross
the border into Austria and are soon in
the capital, Vienna. Tonight, why not
take a stroll through the Prater Park
and take a ride on the big wheel?

- Day 6
Vienna sightseeing & at
leisure. A local guide takes us on a
tour of the city and points out its main
highlights such as the Hofburg Palace,
the Parliament Buildings, the famous
Opera House and pretty St. Stephen's
Cathedral. Later you may wish to visit
the Schonbrunn Place and perhaps enjoy a
concert of Strauss music. Tonight we'll
have an evening of fun, music and great
food at a typical "Heurige" at the edge
of the Vienna Woods. (Continental
breakfast / Dinner)
- Day 7
Vienna at leisure.
Plenty of time to do your own thing
today! Whether it be to explore the
cafes of the old town, visit some of the
city's fine museums and galleries, or to
toake an excursion into the heart of the
Vienna Woods – you'll be sure to love
this city! Tonight, if you wish to stay
out later, we will have transportation
availabe to take you back to the hotel.

- Day 8
Vienna – Danube Valley
– Budapest (3nights). The Hungarian
border at Hegyeshalom is not very far
away, so it's not long before we will be
in Hungary. We drive along the route
known as the 'Danube bend' with its
quaint old villages and pretty orchards,
growning plums later to be made into
Hungarian brandy! Here we stop at
Esztergom, where the Danube splits into
branches forming an island at the heart
of this attractive town. We see its fine
Cathedral, Castle Hill and St. Tamas
Hill before following the Danube to the
spot where the towns of Buda and Pest
straddle the river, forming the
Hungarian captial. Tonight, why not
enjoy seeing the city illuminated while
enjoying a Danube dinner cruise?

- Day 9
Budapest sightseeing &
at leisure. Sightseeing with our
local Hungarian expert will reveal to us
the magnificence of this ancient city.
First at the Fishermen's Bastion in old
Buda overlooking the Danube and the city
of Pest. Then at Heroes' Square, the
Parliament Buildings, the Gundel Park
and on Gellert Hill. Time later to shop
for Hungarian embroidery and beautiful
enamelled boxes. Tonight we enjoy a
goulasch dinner to the accompaniment of
gypsy violins! (Continental breakfast /
Dinner)
- Day 10
Budapest at
leisure. A full day to relax and
enjoy the sights this city has to offer,
or to perhaps indulge in some spa
treatments at one of the Turkish baths,
so popular in the Hungarian captial. You
may also wish to visit the interior of
the Opera House or enjoy some
mouth–watering pastries at Gundel's
famous restaurant! Tonight, why not try
out the excellent Hungarian Folklore –
so colourful and lively – and if you
wish to use, it we will have late –
night transportation for you back to the
hotel. (Continental breakfast)
- Day 11
Budapest – USA.
Bid
farewell to new–found friends at the end
of your tour. Your Trafalgar Tour
Director organises you transfer to
Budapest Airport arriving at
approximately 07.00am for your return
flight to America. For passengers who
wish to be transferred to Vienna, we
will transfer you the Trafalgar Viena
extral night hotel. (Continental
