For passengers who book Trafalgar's
Land only package and who choose to
make their own flight arrangements, a
transfer will be provided at a charge
of $25 per person round trip. Your
Travel Agent must provide Trafalgar
accurate flight details no less than
21 days prior to tour departure and
must arrange your flights to coincide
with our specific arrival and
departure transfer times. If however,
you arrive outside the scheduled
transfer times, then you must make
your own alternative transfer

| | | Day | Destination | Description | | Day 1 | Depart USA | Overnight flight to Amsterdam. | | Day 2 | Amsterdam | On your arrival at Amsterdam airport you are transferred to your hotel. Time to relax or explore this friendly city. Later, meet your Tour Director for a welcome drink. Tonight, why not experience some of the city's exciting nightlife? | | Day 3 | Amsterdam | Our first highlight is a canal cruise in a glass–topped sightseeing boat, the perfect way to see this city of picturesque canals, lined by 17th century gabled houses. Next we enjoy a visit to one of the city's diamond factories to see this fine craftsmanship. Then, with a local guide we will visit the Rijksmuseum famous for its collection of Rembrandt paintings before a sightseeing tour shows us Dam Square, Towere of Tears and the 'Skinny Bridge'. Later, we set off for an excursion to Volendam. Here we stop to take photos of a traditional windmill and attend a cheese and wooden shoe making demonstration before returning to the city. Tonight, we'll enjoy a dinner of Indonesian specialities at a restaurant. (Buffet Breakfast/ Dinner) | | Day 4 | Luxembourg | A morning drive to Haarzuilens, where we visit the magnificent gardens of De Haar castle, owned by a branch of the Rothschild family. Time for photos and a coffee in the castle cafe. Then we're off to Maastricht, the country's oldest fortified city, with free time to enjoy its charming mixture of historic buildings and monuments. Next into nearby Belgium and Bastogne – site of the Battle of the Bulge, a place of pilgrimage for Americans. It was here that Brigadier General Anthony MacAuliffe fought a terrible battle against the Germans in the freezing winter of 1944. We will stop at the American Memorial before driving on to the Duchy of Luxembourg for two nights in its capital, Luxembourg City. (Buffet Breakfast/ Dinner) | | Day 5 | Luxembourg | This morning our local expert takes us on a sightseeing tour featuring the breathtaking gorge of the Rivers Alzette and Petrusse plus we admire the Cathedral of our Lady of Luxembourg, Constitution Square and the 16th century Grand Ducal Palace. Next we drive to the outskirts of the city, to visit the grave of General George Patton. Then free time to explore, or perhaps take an excursion into nearby Germany to the impressive Roman city of Trier. (Buffet Breakfast) | | Day 6 | Bruges | Our day begins with a stop at the Cistercian Abbey of Orval in Belgium. On through the hilly Ardennes and via Dinant birthplace of Adolphe Sax, inventor of the saxophone, to Namur. Here we stop to view the ancient citadel and the Renaissance Italian Cathedral before we head into Dutch speaking Flanders. We stop at Mons, famous for its 'Angel' and its comical belfry. Finally, we arrive in Bruges. (Buffet Breakfast) | | Day 7 | Bruges | Our sightseeing on foot with a local guide, shows us the Grand' Place the Belfry of Brugge the Basilica of the Holy Blood and delightful cruise along its picturesque canals. We also visit the Lace Centre to see how fine lace is made. Then time on your own to perhaps visit one of the fine museums, to enjoy 'moules, frites et biere' (mussels, fries and beer), or to take a trip to the North Sea to visit some of the elegant resorts along the coast. Tonight, dinner is at a local restaurant. (Buffet Breakfast/ Dinner) | | Day 8 | Brussels | Today we visit nearby Gent with its rich and flamboyant architecture. Here an orientation shows us the 'Three Towers of Gent', the towering Guild houses of the 'Graslei' and the Castle of the Counts of Flanders. TIme to wander in this historical city before heading to Brussels, capital of Belgium and of the European Community. (Buffet Breakfast) | | Day 9 | Brussels | This morning our Tour Director shows the us the main sights, starting with one of Europe's most unusual buildings, the Atomium. Then we drive through the Royal Park to see not only the Royal Palace but also Japanese and Chinese Pagodas. Next off to the Grand' Place, the heart of the city, where there's time to admire the Guild houses and the magnificent Town Hall, before we see the 'Manneken Pis' and much more. After enjoy free time, maybe take an excursion or visit one of the great museums! Tonight, why not head out to the lively 'rue des Bouchers' for dinner? (Buffet Breakfast) | | Day 10 | Rotterdam | A short drive to Antwerp where orientation shows us this city of many spires. We see the Grand' Place, as well as the Cathderal of Our Lady and the house of Pieter Paul Rubens, the great 17th century painter. Then we are off to the Dutch border and cross the magnificent Zeeland Bridge across dykes and rivers to reach the famous Delta Expo. Here with the help of an audio–visual presentation, we learn of the many dykes linking islands to the mainland and controlling the water levels, so avoiding drastic flooding flooding. Next we stop in pretty Delft, before arriving in Rotterdam for the last night of our tour. (Buffet Breakfast/ Dinner) | | Day 11 | Return USA | A morning transfer to the Schiphol Airport. Bid farewell to our Tour Director and new found fiends as we board our return flight to America. (Buffet Breakfast) |
