Airport Transfers
Transfers on arrival on and departure will be provided only for passengers who have booked their flights on a Trafalgar recommended flight and advised Trafalgar of their flight details at least 21 days prior to departure date. San Jose Airport transfers will only be provided on Day 1 and 9.

Tour Duration: 9 days

• Day 1
  Miami – San Jose (2nights). Board your flight to San Jose, Costa Rica. On arrival you're met and transferred to your hotel. In the early afternoon, for passengers arriving prior to 1.00pm, we enjoy a guided sightseeing tour including a visit to the Bellavista Fort, which is now the National Museum. There's also a chance to visit the Central Market and discover the lively streets of San Jose.
  
  
• Day 2
  Poas Volcano & La Paz Waterfall Excursion. This morning after breakfast, we will visit a coffee plantation before heading to the Poas Volcano. Then on to the tropical cloud forest of the Poas Volcano National Park. From here we make a stop at La Paz Waterfall gardens for a walking tour which leads to the Magia Blanca Falls. After an included lunch, we'll see the largest enclosed butterfly observatory in the world. (Buffet breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
  
  
• Day 3
  San Jose – Tortuguero National Park (2nights). Today through Braulio Carrillo National Park to Freeman or Matina. En route to Toruguero we will visit a banana plantation before our two–hour boat journey to Tortuguero. Meet our guide who explains the plans for the next two days. Our lodge facilities includes natural history guides, boats and family–style dining. The canals and rivers of Tortuguero National Park are a study in rainforest, freshwater and marine biology. • Day 4
  Tortuguero National Park at leisure. A full day to enjoy boat and hike trips through Tortuguero. (Buffet breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
  
  
• Day 5
  Tortuguero National Park – Arenal / Muelle (2nights). We transfer to Freeman or Matina by boat and on to Guapiles for an included lunch. Then on through the lowlands of Sarapiqui to see how various crops grow. Before arriving at our hotel, we see the still active Arenal Volcano. (Buffet breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
  
  
• Day 6
  Arenal / Muelle at leisure. A free morning to perhaps take an optional tour including windsurfing, bass fishing, hiking and the Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge. Later, off to the volcanic thermal mineral pools of Tabacon Hot Springs. Take a relaxing bath and enjoy the thrilling after dark show of the Arenal Volcano with its thundering explosions and burst of glowing rock. We dine at a local restaurant. • Day 7
  Arenal / Muelle – Jaco. Today we travel through the San Carlos Valley to the Central Pacific Coast stopping at Sarchi town for lunch. Then a free afternoon perhaps to enjoy the beach and watch sunset.

• Day 8
  Carrara National Park – San Jose. A morning walk through the beautiful Carrara National Park with its many mammals, the rare scarlet macaw and observe enormous crocodiles. Later, back to San Jose were we will enjoy a farewell dinner at our hotel.

• Day 9
  San Jose – USA. Bid farewell as we transfer to the airport for our return flight to America. Arrival in Miami will be on the same day. (Buffet breakfast)
