Christmas Markets

• In Germanic cities, towns and villages you will find all kinds of Christmas
  merchandise and gifts, especially traditional crib figurines, toys, wood carvings,
  marionettes, candles and lambskin shoes. The ambience is further enhanced by
  the aromas of Lebkuchen (gingerbread), hot chestnuts, grilled sausages and
  Glühwein (a spiced mulled wine).

DAY 1 – DEPART USA

Overnight flight to Munich.

DAY 2 – ARRIVE MUNICH

Complimentary transfers to the tour hotel leave Munich airport at 09.00 & 13.00hrs. Tonight, we enjoy a Welcome Drink.

DAY 3 – MUNICH

Our orientation tour of Munich ends at the Marienplatz, home of the traditional Christkindlmarkt. (BB)

DAY 4 – MUNICH – SALZBURG

Departing Munich, we cross the border to Salzburg in Austria. On our guided walking tour we see the Mirabell Gardens, Mozart’s Birthplace and the Christmas Market in Cathedral Square. Hotel: Castellani Parkhotel. (BB,D)

DAY 5 – SALZBURG

Today we travel to Innsbruck, capital of the Austrian Tyrol. We visit the Wilten Basilica before continuing into the heart of the Old Town. Time here to browse among the Christmas Market stalls set up next to the Golden Roof. (BB)

DAY 6 – SALZBURG – VIENNA

We head east past the Monastery of Melk and along the scenic Wachau valley. We pass the ruined castle of Durnstein, before reaching Austria's great Imperial capital.

DAY 7 – VIENNA

We tour Vienna’s ring road before driving out to visit glorious Schönbrunn Palace – a spectacular backdrop for a Christmas village. Tonight, we enjoy a Highlight Dinner at a local restaurant. (BB,HD)

DAY 8 – RETURN TO USA

Transfers arrive at Vienna Airport at 07.00 and 09.00 hours. (BB)
