An excellent 11–day vacation for those who wish to concentrate on Central Europe and see more than the main cities. Start in London to visit St. Paul's Cathedral, then ride the Eurostar train to Brussels to see the Grand'Place. Relax during your two–night stay in Bruges, one of Europe's most perfectly preserved medieval cities. Visit Antwerp on your way to Cologne, cruise the Rhine River, and continue via Heidelberg to Alsace's capital Strasbourg. A local expert will show you the Gothic cathedral and the lovely "Petite France" district. The afternoon is yours to explore this delightful city on your own. Next is the city of Reims, where you visit a famous champagne cellar, before ending in Paris.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1 (Thu.) Board your overnight transatlantic flight.
Day 2 Arrival in London, England. (Fri.) Uniformed Globus hosts are available to help you make the most of your stay.
Day 3 London. (Sat.) Morning sightseeing with a professional London guide includes all the famous landmarks: Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Palace and the area's splendid museums, Knightsbridge with Harrods, the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben beside the River Thames, and Westminster Abbey. Highlights are a visit to ST. PAUL'S CATHEDRAL and the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, if held. Afternoon at leisure or take an optional excursion to the Tower of London with its fabulous Crown Jewels. (FB)
Day 4 LondonBrussels, Belgium–Bruges. (Sun.) Board the ultra–modern Eurostar train for a smooth ride to Brussels, capital of Belgium. Admire the ornate Baroque guildhalls of GRAND' PLACE and see famous Manneken Pis. Then drive to Bruges, one of Europe's most perfectly preserved medieval cities. Originating during the defense of the Flemish coast from Viking attack, and once an important wool trading port, it now proudly tells the story of art and architecture of the Middle Ages. (FB,D)
Day 5 Bruges. (Mon.) Sightseeing with a local expert features the Church of Our Lady, the "Markt" with its belfry, an inside visit of the Basilica of the Holy Blood, the City Hall, and the Museum of the Holy Blood with the famous relic shrine. Afternoon and evening at leisure. (BB)
Day 6 Bruges–AntwerpCologne, Germany. (Tue.) A short drive to Antwerp, Belgium's second city and one of the world's largest ports. Free time at the main market square, the "Grote Markt," to explore or to try out some of the typical Belgium specialties, wafels. In the afternoon on to Cologne, one of the largest cities in Germany, dating back to Roman days and beautifully situated at the Rhine River. Visit the CATHEDRAL, considered to be one of the most impressive examples of Gothic art. Time to wander around or climb the south tower for an amazing view from over 300 ft. (BB,D)
Day 7 Cologne–Rhine Cruise–Heidelberg–Strasbourg, France. (Wed.) This morning head south towards Bonn, former capital of West Germany, and past Remagen to Koblenz, where the Moselle River runs into the Rhine. Then board an excursion steamer and cruise up the Rhine, past terraced vineyards, castle–crested cliffs, and half–timbered towns. In the afternoon stop in Heidelberg, famous for its red–walled castle. Time to stroll around in the Old Town before continuing to Alsace's capital, Strasbourg, France. (BB,D)
Day 8 Strasbourg. (Thu.) Sightseeing with a local guide this morning features Place Gutenberg, with the statue of the inventor of the printing press; the main square, Place Kleber; the lovely "La Petite France" district; and the GOTHIC CATHEDRAL. Afternoon and evening at leisure to further explore this delightful city. (BB)
Day 9 Strasbourg–Reims–Paris. (Fri.) A smooth drive along France's excellent highways takes you to Reims, where you will hear about the fine art of making champagne at a famous CHAMPAGNE CELLAR, and visit the CATHEDRAL with Chagall's famous windows. Then continue to Paris, the traditional climax of a European vacation. (BB)
Day 10 Paris. (Sat.) Discover the world capital of chic and style with a local expert and admire its most famous sights: the Opéra, Arc de Triomphe, Champs–Elysées, Notre Dame Cathedral, and more.... For a bird's eye view take the elevator to the second floor of Paris's most famous landmark, the EIFFEL TOWER. An optional excursion to the lavish Baroque Palace of Versailles is available. Tonight, a lively cabaret show might just be the ticket. (BB)
Day 11 (Sun.) Your homebound flight from Paris arrives the same day. (BB)
